FRIDAY 16^th January 2015

 Delegates travel to Tasmania

Fly into either Launceston or Hobart and drive to Swansea (approximately 135 km from either airport)

 6:30 pm Informal Dinner

 SATURDAY 17^th January 2015

 8:30 am          Registration.

 9:00 am          Welcome

 9:15 am          Symposium

·         Review of Quality Parameters program

·         Presentation by Walnuts Australia on current R&D

·         Presentations by TIA on current R&D

 10:30 am        Morning Tea

 11:00 am        Symposium continues

·           Frost Machines

·           Pruning

·           Phytophthora

 12:30 pm        Lunch

 1:30 pm          Orchard visit – Walnuts Australia

                        Including discussions on

·         Frost management

·         Phytophthora – soil pits

·         Tree hedging with mechanical equipment

·         Cultivars

·         Nursery management and tree transfer from nursery to orchard

·         Wind machines

·         Specific plot production, yield and quality

 5:00 pm          Return to Swansea.

 6:30 pm          Pre-Dinner Drinks

 7:00 pm          Symposium Dinner

 SUNDAY 18^th January 2015

 8:30 am          Bus departs for local tour

 ·         Kate's Berry Farm

·         Winery

·         Other relevant sites/venues (still to be selected)

 12:30 pm        Lunch

 1:30 pm          Delegates depart to return home.
