VII International Walnut Symposium
China
18th to the 29th of July 2013
TThere is a great opportunity for walnut growers whether they are members of the
Australian Walnut Industry Association (AWIA) or not to attend the VII International Walnut Symposium in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China from the 20th to the 23rd of July this year.
Associated with this an eight day study tour of the walnut industry in Northern China there is also included visits to the iconic Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City and the terracotta soldiers. This study tour will include visits to Chinese walnut growers, processors, researchers and R&D organisations, markets and marketing companies and service industries etc.
Through an arrangement with Horticulture Australia Limited (HAL) AWIA is able to offer interested walnut growers a substantially subsidised travel and accommodation package to attend the symposium and enjoy an eight day study tour of the Chinese walnut industry with fellow walnut growers.
Travel and Accommodation Package
For members of AWIA the total cost for all travel, accommodation, meals, an English speaking tour guide and the tourist coach for the eight day study tour is $3,100 AUD per person. Symposium registration is not included and will need to be done separately by each member. However your accommodation is included in the AWIA package. The smart thing for non members to do is to take out a membership (discounted to $215 with no joining fee) and receive other benefits such as The Walnut Kernel and the Australian Nutgrower publications, the latest walnut R&D information and other benefits.
Initially the group will fly from Melbourne to Guangzhou, then to Taiyuan where the symposium is being held. At the conclusion of the symposium the study tour group will fly to Beijing to commence the eight day tour of Northern China, then fly back to Guangzhou and return home to Melbourne on the 30th of July.
Inclusions
Included in the tour of Northern China will be all meals, 5 star hotels, English speaking tour guides, tourist coaches, all air fares (International and domestic). The airline is China Southern.
The symposium section includes transport to the hotel the symposium is being held in from Taiyuan airport which is about one hour travel. Four night’s hotel accommodation and most meals. (Accommodation at this hotel is not 5 star.)
Due to differing earlybird registration dates and the differing categories members are advised to register themselves. You will also need to pay for this yourself.
